Senzoku Gakuen College of Music

A Curriculum with an Extraordinary Degree of Freedom

Although everyone may attend the same College of Music, everyone has their own goal for their studies and their own aspirations. To respond to these needs, the music lessons and “Concert Planning, Playing and Management” are, in principle, the only required courses at Senzoku Gakuen. Other than these required courses, all students are free to select from among an extensive range of elective courses. Students who are studying primarily classical music can study jazz or visual arts, or even take a class in Japanese traditional music. Students can receive tremendous stimulation by taking a diverse range of classes, and greatly enhance their musical creativity.

KEY POINTS

  • Decreasing the number of required courses makes it possible to freely create a curriculum that matches the goals of each student.
  • Over 100 elective courses spanning a diverse range of fields are available for all of the Majors, and the elective courses can be universally selected.
  • The instructor who will teach the music lesson is determined through a request survey.
  • As a minor for practical skills, the student can select a musical instrument or vocal music that matches personal objectives.
